Worn out on the way home

We had so much fun.

Day Three

We were wearing a bit thin by day three. So much fun= tired kids. Our morning started off with Ira getting teary because he didn't want to leave St. Louis and Greg crying over a cereal box we told him he had to leave in the room. Fortunately, they all cheered up at the zoo. The weather was gorgeous! We had a great time.

My favorite part of the zoo was the reptile and amphibian house. These were giant tortoises who must have just gotten fed because they were all huddled in the corner chewing on various vegetables.

Day Two

We had a late lunch and then went on to the Magic House which is the St. Louis children's museum. What a fun place! The kids played and played despite being fairly tired by that time. We left at 5pm closing, went back to the hotel, and had a little rest followed by a pizza party and swimming.

They had a great construction room that they boys spent most of their time exploring and playing in.

We were surprised to see the Magic Tree House exhibit. Ira loves the book series.

Lydia prepared a Thanksgiving banquet in the colonial room.
The kids didn't really make it to these rooms, but I did. They had a Oval Office room replica, a model of the senate floor and the supreme court. Crazy fun!

Day Two

Having run out of time on the first day we arrived, we moved activities to day two. It worked out perfectly since it rained. We went to two museums. First, was the City Museum. Truly, one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. It was an old manufacturing business that has been converted to a kids museum where every square inch can be climbed on, over, or through. My photos and descriptions can't do it justice, so I will put a link so you can see for yourself.

They had a bug room. Thousands of specimens were mounted. Lydia loved it!

This was the skateboard room. The kids ran and ran up and down the ramps.

Lydia enjoyed climbing on the chameleon.
