A BIG DEAL

Another parenting milestone.  Ben and I wanted to go see the new Ghostbusters movie, and after a good review from Ellen, we thought we would ask the kids.  They weren't real enthusiastic, (which was just as well because it would have been too intense) but we really wanted to go.  Then it hit us.  Ira is nearly 13, our kids are all pretty good and responsible and don't fight (most of the time). Why don't we just leave them at home.  Grandma and Grandpa are home next door if they have any issues.

So we left at 7:15, set the timer for them to turn off the t.v. after about 45 minutes and go to bed.  Grandpa came and checked on them at 9.  Everything was good.  They did what they were told.  THEY WERE AWESOME!

This means date nights are a thing we can do now!!!!! In the thick of having babies, parents can never imagine a night like tonight, but here it was!!!  They can stay home once in a while on their own!!!! What?!

(We did sweeten the deal a bit with $2.00 for each of them if we got a good report.  I think they earned it.)
